Girls Art Work

These are Deb and Robyns art work they made for the soldering class. The original pieces created were approx 8x11". The pieces were scanned and copies printed off for the glass pieces. This is a great way of getting multiple uses from your work. You can resize them, alter the colour slightly and lots more. The top two images are Debs and the third image is Robyns. The one I started (and STILL haven't finished!!) is in musky pinks.
ENJOY!!!!!!

Where has the time gone?

I can't believe it has been over two weeks since my last post!!!
Thought I would share some photos of the Wednesday morning girls work. We have been playing with a project from Sally Jean Alexanders book 'Pretty Little Things', in particular, a 'triptych frame'. On Wednesday, the girls started the soldering, it was quite funny to hear some of the expletives coming from the workshop! There were a few burnt fingers, but that was mostly Jacky!!!!
Here are some photos, below are Debs pieces, front and back.

These next two are Robyns frontsAnd the back...And these below are Sunnys
And finally, this is Jackys finished piece. Well worth the burnt fingers don't you think?

And no I haven't done mine yet! Someone has to get the website up and running!!!!
We have some exciting new lines that will be available through the shop soon. Will try and take some photos to post here if anyone is interested!
Have a great day!

Wednesday

The wednesday girls are now making 'Sally Jean' art and the results of their collages were amazing. Will scan them in next week and post them for you all to see. Next week we are cutting glass and having a go at soldering, should be fun!
GOOD NEWS, the new shop should be up and running soon, fingers crossed xxxxxxxxxx
I am also hoping to have all the Melbourne Retreat workshop samples by the end of the week, if so I should be able to work on all the webpages over the weekend and open registrations soon after. The waiting is killing me......

Finally finished the shrine!

Okay, this project has been a long time in the making but finally I added the final touches to it. The photos really don't show alot of the details, but it gives you an idea. This was very much inspired by Michael as I really enjoyed his classes when he was here in Perth. I have used his stamps quite a bit. They are amazing, lots of detail in them and really unusual imagery. I made the little men from bits and pieces from the tray of goodies that Sunny gave us, some really great stuff in there! Gosh these images are taking ages to upload. I tried to keep them big enough for you to click on them so you could see a bit more of the detail. Oh, here they are!!

This is the inside of the shrine with the door open. The red images are 2 of Michaels stamps, I placed one stamp across 2 of the boxes (the two outer boxes). The drawers down below have nothing in them, but they do open, so I suppose I should really put something in there!

This is a close up of the central image. This is one of Michaels stamps and I cut a pair of eyes from a mag to place behind the horns of the charm.

This is one of my little 'men', this was so much fun to make and because it has a spring it bobbles around quite a bit. The arms are old fuse wires, love those things... I am glad I have alot more of them. There is a face image behind the glass pebble but because of the flash it has disappeared, it is there I promise! The whole shrine is constructed from foam core and it is surprisingly strong. I guess the layers and layers of paint and gels etc.. have strengthened it even more! I just love painting, if you mess up, you just paint right over it and add even more dimension!

This is a bit of the inner door detail with more of Michaels stamps. I have used all Golden Heavy bodies on this shrine, mostly Quin Nickel Azo Gold, Carbon black, Bronze, Crimson and Dioxazine Purple. When I finished painting, I had a mixture of 'sloppy' paint in my tray, so I dipped in some old book pages and different papers, they turned out amazing! A lovely blend of colours. I must scan them and post them here...

Some work I have done

A few of the pages I have been working on for my paint effects/artjournal class that will be going online and will also start running in the shop. I have been having so much fun with this!!!

Blissful silence...for now!

Anthony has taken the kids to his mothers for the night, it is only me and Samara at home (and she is hibernating in her room!).
It is quiet...
so very quiet...
aaaah, bliss! I shall enjoy it while it lasts!
My house is clean, the washing is almost complete and I am in the mood for playing.
I spent most of Saturday just surfing the net, reading different blogs and posttering around my studio, cleaning up a bit.
Sunday, I cleaned. Six, yes SIX loads of washing!!!! That is what happens when you get the kids to actually clean their room (not just shove it all in a cupboard!!!!). I cleaned out all those clutter spots that accumulate over the weeks and I cleaned up some more in my studio until it was time to help them load up the car for the 2 1/2 hour drive. Once they were safely on their way I flew into my studio where I played for 2 WHOLE hours, until I had to pick Samara up from the movies. It was great, I loved it! Have taken some photos but haven't put them on the computer yet!
Slept in umtil 9am this morning, can't remember the last time I did that! Then, I kicked myself for wasting this precious time, lying around in bed! So 2 hours later I have another load of washing done, the animals are fed, beds made, I have read my favourite blogs and once I finish this I am off to play some more, and I am still in my pyjamas! This is just great!!!!!
Anthony and the girls will be home at about 5pm so I have 6 hours, gotta go, not a minute to waste!!!!
Hope your weekend was a good one!
