Does it ever end?

It feels like I will never get to the end of adding products on to the online store and I am not even half way through yet!! At present there are over 700 products listed and many of those are on special. In two weeks we will be doing the Craft Fair at Claremont Showgrounds and many of these products will be available there, so if you can't make it to the fair, I highly recommend going to the shop and getting what you want before the end of the month!!

A couple of weeks ago, Mum had her Vintage Fair Miss Johnsons at the Guildford Town Hall. There are a heap more photos over on their blog, so go on over and check it out. There will be another fair later in the year, looking forward to warmer nights!!

My little stall, I really have to get stuck in and make some more stock, I have lots of ideas for the next Miss Johnsons and can't wait to get the stock all loaded so I can get Creative!!!

I have been making a few scarves on a loom that I bought from Spotlight, and I must admit a bit of an addiction. I have just finished a scarf for my sister and now all the kids want one. I did nearly finish one for Kaitlin today, but ran out of wool. I also have been dabbling with my cross stitch again, which is something I can do sitting in front of the tele at night.

Spring Clean... in Winter!

On Friday, Mum came around to help sort out my studio. As my studio is now home to all the shop stock, this was a massive job that requires much organisation if I am to find anything! Today I got to work clearing off my trestles so I can start creating!! I still have the end cupboard to sort out, but am really pleased with all I achieved today!

As you can see below, the 'office' is still a bit of a mess, but I do know where everything is if I need to get my hands on it.
My next big task is to sort all these boxes in front of my shelves. These will eventually all go under the trestles once I have cleaned out under there! Lots of these things are to be photographed to go on the website.

And, I finally have set up my first work station. This is all set up to start making some jewellery pieces. More on that in the next post.
And under this work station are all my bits and pieces for creating the jewelery pieces! Maybe not the most organised of systems, but one I hope will work for me!
Well, time to set up my next work station. I may even have enough done to start creating tomorrow!! One can but hope....

A New chapter begins

After 5 years we have closed to doors on our lovely shop...
It was with sadness and relief, sadness that this beautiful shop that we had grown and nurtured, was no longer, and relief that we now have more creative freedom and art time. Though finances were a small part of our decision, it was mostly due to our desire to travel and have more time to spend creating.

So, in a few short weeks, we went from this....


To this...
Our homes are now packed to the rafters!!! We have had a week off to catch our breath, but now are back in full swing again.
I am in the process of remodelling our website. The online shop is being completely overhauled with new products, sale items and our regular lines.
We will be bringing you some wonderful free online classes. At present we are not sure of how often these will come out, but to start with at least once a month. Having not done this before, it will take some to figure out all the logistics!
We also have some exciting news about an event that will take place next year. We are very excited and look forward to sgaring this news with you all soon...
Well, work to be done and it's almost time to do the school run.

Artistic Journey closing down sale

As of May 29th 2010, Artistic Journey will be closing down our Beaufort Street shop front. We will however, still be operating our online store on a smaller but much improved scale and be offering monthly workshops.

BUT..., we need to clear out our shop!!!

Maddis Skating comp May 2010

This weekend Maddi had her 3rd skating competition, and I tell you what..., I am sooo proud of her. She loves her skating so much and does not let any set backs get her down! She is thriving under her new coach and improving in leaps and bounds.

Her she is with Natasha in their medals for figures, Maddi came 2nd and 'Tash took out the gold.
Here she is starting her dance routine, she came 5th.


And here she is in her freeskate costume. She came 4th in freeskate which was awesome considering she lost points for forgetting a jump and has only been learning this routine for a few weeks. We will practise lots more now and I am sure there will be a big improvement at next comps.


I am so proud of you Maddi, I think you are amazing!!!

How quickly time passes

... and here he is now! These were taken the Easter weekend and he is growing in leaps and bounds.

He now sleeps through the night,


has cut his 1st tooth,


says, "Da da" and "Ma ma",


sits up by himself,


and is trying to crawl!



Just look at that face. Of course he is adored by all his Aunties (and his Nana!!) and he has a wonderful Mummy, who is very patient and affectionate and very attentive. What more could this little man ask for??
